Rates and Insurance

Fees

The fee is $180 per hour. The fee for other services (e.g., letter writing, completing forms) is also $170 per hour.

Psychological services are not covered by OHIP. However, as a registered clinical psychologist, the services I provide are normally covered under extended health insurance plans. You may be reimbursed either fully or partially for the costs of treatment. I encourage you to contact your insurance company prior to your first appointment to determine what your entitlements are under your plan. The important questions to ask are:

• Do I have coverage for a psychologist?

  • How many therapy sessions per year does my plan cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Is a referral required from my primary care provider?

  • What forms do I need to submit to obtain my reimbursement?

Fees for psychological services are HST exempt. Depending on your income, the fees may be deductible as a medical expense on you income tax return.

I usually meet with clients for a 75 minute initial consultation. This allows me to obtain a fairly thorough description of the problems and garner some information about the background history. Subsequently, therapy sessions are 60 minutes in duration.

Payment

Cash, cheques, debit, and e-transfers, are accepted. I collect fees directly from you and provide you with a statement to submit to your insurance company for a reimbursement.

Cancellation Policy

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Clients who fail to appear for their therapy appointment without furnishing at least 24 hours notice will be charged for the full cost of the session.
